Continue ShoppingOur laser-engraved patches burn your logo into the leather. Debossing works differently. Your logo is pressed into the leather, so the design sits below the surface and stays the same color as the leather around it. You get a clean, tone-on-tone look with real depth you can feel with your thumb.
We've added debossed leather patches to the lineup, and you can order them two ways: heat applied to your hats, or as patches on their own with peel and stick backing.
Natural is a lighter tan that shows off the pressed detail with soft shadows. Caramel is a richer, warmer brown. Both are genuine leather, about 2mm thick, so expect slight variation in shade and texture from patch to patch. That's part of the appeal.

Pick your hats and we press the patches on here in our shop. Debossed patches work on cotton, polyester, and cotton/poly blend hats. They're not compatible with wool, nylon, or acrylic, since those fabrics can't take the heat.
Hat patches max out at 2.35" tall and 3.5" wide. We set that limit on purpose. A taller heat-applied patch has a harder time staying put on the curve of a crown.
Want the patches without hats? Order them with peel and stick backing and apply them yourself to smooth, hard surfaces like notebooks, journals, hard-shell cases, and packaging. Peel and stick patches can go up to 4" x 4".
To apply, clean the surface with rubbing alcohol, press the patch firmly in place, and give it 24 hours to cure. Skip silicone, oily finishes, outdoor gear, and anything that gets washed. Plan to apply them within a year of delivery.
Debossed patches have a 50 piece minimum, and the price per patch drops as your order grows. A 3" x 2" patch runs $9.30 each at 50 pieces and $4.40 each at 1,000 or more. The full price grid by size and quantity is on our Debossed Leather Patch Quote Request page. Ordering hats too? We'll add them to your quote.
Need fewer than 50? Our laser-engraved leather patches have no minimum.
Debossing presses your design into the leather, so very fine detail won't hold. Before you send your file, check it against these:
Working from AI-generated art? Read this first. It usually needs to be redrawn as clean vector art before it can be debossed.
Go debossed if you want a pressed, tone-on-tone look, a choice of Natural or Caramel leather, or patches you can stick on hard goods yourself.
Go laser engraved if you need fewer than 50 pieces, have a logo with fine detail, or want the darker contrast of an engraved mark on Hermann Oak leather.
Fill out our Debossed Leather Patch Quote Request form. Upload your artwork, pick your backing and leather color, enter your patch size, and tell us which hats you want if you're going heat applied. You won't be charged anything at this step.
We check your art against the specs. If it's ready to go, we send back a mockup with your price and a secure checkout link. If it needs changes, we'll tell you exactly what to fix, or suggest another patch option that fits your design better.
Custom patches are made just for you, so they're non-refundable once your art is approved.
